• Student-Provided Scholarship & Pathway Information

13th Year™ does not passively track students as they view kiosk content. However, when students choose to complete a scholarship application, pathway interest form, or partner follow-up request, they may voluntarily share information about their post-high-school interests and aspirations.

 

This may include interest in college, skilled trades, military service, internships, apprenticeships, direct-to-workforce opportunities, certifications, or even starting a business. This information helps 13th Year™ administer scholarship opportunities, understand student interests, and, when authorized, connect students with vetted, relevant College & Career Partners who can help them explore their next steps.

• No Passive Data Mining or Targeted Advertising

Students are not tracked simply for walking by or viewing kiosk content. Information is collected only when a student voluntarily submits a form, application, or request for follow-up. 13th Year™ is designed to support student exploration and opportunity, not to create a passive advertising data-mining environment.

• School-Approved Content

All messages from College & Career Partners are reviewed and must follow appropriate educational and editorial guidelines. This helps ensure that every opportunity, video, message, or announcement presented to students is appropriate, accurate, and aligned with the school environment.

• Privacy & Compliance Considerations

Our platform is designed with student privacy and FERPA-related considerations in mind and is intended to complement, not complicate, school compliance obligations. 13th Year™ does not require integration with, or access to, a high school’s student information system. Student information is handled with care and used only for appropriate purposes, including scholarship administration, pathway exploration, and student-authorized follow-up opportunities.

• Secure Infrastructure & Partner Integrations

From kiosk placement to cloud-based content management, every 13th Year™ kiosk is managed with security best practices. Access is limited to authorized school and 13th Year™ personnel, with routine monitoring to support reliability, safety, and appropriate use.

 

For College & Career Partners, 13th Year™ is also designed to make opt-in, student-authorized inquiries easier to receive and act upon. Where applicable, 13th Year™ can support integration with Slate and other enrollment or CRM platforms, helping partners move student interest from the kiosk and scholarship experience into their existing follow-up workflows.​
